Nigerian president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has bounced back to close the gaps in opinion polls on March 1, 2015.
According to reports, the latest opinion poll announced on March 1, 2015 indicates that the Nigerian President and the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate has bounced back closing the gap between him and the All Progressive Congress’ presidential aspirant, Muhammadu Buhari.
The reports further revealed that official figures now stands at the APC candidate, Buhari leading with 51% and the PDP candidate, Jonathan coming strong with 49%.
This is coming after the president’s meeting with several groups and most recently, the youths in Lagos on Sunday, March 1, 2015.
Some steps taken by the President lately are also believed to have worked to his advantage. Such include the newly intensified war against terror, leading to the retaking of territories that had been lost to Boko Haram insurgents.
President Jonathan has also stepped up his act as the Commander-in-Chief, visiting troops at the front. He has also used the opportunity of the 6-week postponement of the general elections to intensify consultations with traditional rulers and leaders across the geo-political zones.
